01 How does the age calculation algorithm work?

Age is calculated by subtracting your birth date from a target date (which defaults to today). The formula processes this calculation by first subtracting days, borrowing from the preceding month if necessary, then subtracting months, and finally subtracting years. The tool automatically accounts for leap years (which add a 29th day to February every four years) to ensure all elapsed days, weeks, and total seconds lived are mathematically precise.

02 Why might different calculators show different age results?

Some basic age calculators count only the difference in years, or fail to account for the varying number of days in months (e.g., 28, 30, or 31 days) or leap years. Additionally, timezone offsets can sometimes cause a date to shift by a day depending on whether the system parses input using UTC or local time.
